Travel insurance was traditionally purchased after customers booked flights or hotels elsewhere. Tawuniya entered the journey late, as an add-on provider and this limited engagement, control over the booking flow, and cross-sell opportunity. The brand wanted to shift from being a reactive insurance provider to proactive travel partner within its own app environment.
Unravel deployed a deeply embedded, white-labeled travel booking module inside Tawuniya’s primary app, supported by a prominent home-screen banner directing users to the travel experience. The solution was also integrated into Tawuniya’s loyalty app (Drive). These deployments extended beyond standard travel integration. It included an Arabic language experience, trusted review layers with enhanced filtering, localized travel collections (Top Picks, Most Loved, Clean & Preferred), dynamic themes tailored to regional preferences, and facility-based search such as landmark proximity and family-friendly amenities. Buy Now Pay Later functionality via Tamara increased booking flexibility, while booking confirmations and communication flows were integrated via WhatsApp for a seamless customer experience.
Tawuniya now holds the complete travel lifecycle inside its ecosystem, from discovery and booking to insurance and post-booking communication. Customers no longer leave the app to transact elsewhere and return for insurance. The result is stronger insurance attachment, improved conversion through BNPL flexibility, enhanced trust via review transparency, and incremental commission revenue alongside core insurance products. Tawuniya is now positioned as a comprehensive travel partner, not just a policy provider.
